Buddy Holly (born Charles Hadin Holly) was a singer songwriter from Texas and acclaimed as a pioneer of Rock and Roll. His success was extremely short lived due to his premature death in an airplane crash in February 1959. With his backing group The Crickets, Buddy Holly toured the UK just once in March 1958 taking in several venues across the country.
