Pink Floyd formed in 1965, the band consisted of friends Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and Syd Barrett. They were hugely popular on London’s underground scene in the late 1960s releasing 2 singles and making a very successful debut album. In December 1967 the group added David Gilmour to their line-up. Due to deteriorating health Syd Barrett left the group in April of 1968. The group went on to have huge success with their albums Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979).

Syd Barrett's Personal Acoustic Guitar
A rare example of a guitar personally owned and played by Syd Barrett. The junior size classical guitar with gig bag was found in one of the upstairs bedrooms of his home in Cambridge. The label inside the sound hole reads: “Artist, handmade guitar model MG 9611YW”.
